Galleries, Private Content and Instant Media - What's the difference?

Snifffr gives you three ways to share photos and videos: Galleries, Instant Media and Private Content.

One is free. Two earn you tokens. They work best when you use all three together.

The quick version

  • Galleries → Free for buyers to view. A glimpse of who you are.
  • Instant Media → Buyers pay tokens once to unlock a single photo or video (24-hour access).
  • Private Content → Buyers subscribe with tokens for a set period (e.g. 30, 60, 90 or 180 days) and get access to your whole private feed.

What are Galleries?

Your Gallery is the free, public set of photos on your profile. Any buyer browsing Snifffr can view them — no tokens, no unlocking, no subscription.

Galleries don't earn you tokens directly. Their job is to make buyers want what's behind the paywall.

Think of every Gallery image as an advert for your Instant Media and Private Content.

  • Tease, don't tell. Show enough to spark curiosity, but keep your best shots for paid content.
  • Crop and angle. Partial views, close-ups and cropped shots leave buyers wanting the full version.
  • Show variety. Hint at the different types of content you offer so buyers know what they'd be paying for.
  • Point buyers where to go. Mention in your profile that there's more waiting in your Instant Media and Private Content.
  • Keep it fresh. Add new Gallery photos regularly — new images bring buyers back to your profile.
  • Stay within the rules. Galleries are public, so they must follow our content guidelines.

What is Instant Media?

Instant Media are individual photos or videos that a buyer pays tokens to unlock, one at a time.

  • The same content can be sold again and again

What is Private Content?

Private Content is your subscription-based content feed. Buyers pay tokens for a set access period and can view everything in your feed while their access is active.

  • A full library of photos and videos, not a single item
  • Buyers choose an access duration (e.g. 30, 60, 90 or 180 days)
  • All pricing durations must be set before buyers can purchase
  • You can keep adding new content at any time
  • Never shown publicly on your profile

How the three work together

  1. A buyer finds your Gallery for free and likes what they see.
  2. Curiosity leads them to unlock a piece of Instant Media — a small, easy first purchase.
  3. If they want more, they subscribe to your Private Content for ongoing access.

Sellers who treat their Gallery as a teaser — rather than as the main event — tend to see more unlocks and more subscriptions.
